A medium sized plant in a hanging basket, this is one of the easier Nepenthes to grow
and can do really well in a bathroom , The pitchers are around 3 to 6 inches in length and are green to
orange in colour, These plants are best kept just damp with rainwater all year round , avoid full sun
Great value !
I baught a medium Nepenthes x Ventrata over a year ago , it started as a simple rosette and not so tall, but after a year and a half of constant care has entered the vining stage and is current 4 feet tall, i will have to repot it soon.
Very pleased. Prompt delivery and packaged very delicately. Have admired these since seeing them at an open event run by you guys. Can't wait to visit the next one. Will definitely be buying more in future.. if I can keep this one alive!
Dr Rich Boden
What an excellent buy. I got one of these about 3-4 years ago now and it was under £20. It is strictly speaking N. ventricosa x N. alata as “N. x ventrata” is not a validly published name, but it is used in horticulture, of course. When I got this plant, the shock of moving from Mr Soper’s lovely glasshouses meant it lost most of its pitchers, but it grew and grew... it appreciates a touch of OrchidMyst on the upper leaves once a week and I have recently taken to giving it 10mL of a 0.25% solution of ericaciois plant food into the pitchers once every few months, since it is 5 floors up in my office and seldom sees livestock to eat. This specimen (2 plants in one basket) has now got 3 vines of over 2-3 metres in length, which I have trained up and along shelves using bulldog clips on the shelf edge and plant ties to attach the stem to the holes in the clips. Truly beautiful - it hasn’t flowered yet and even though the internodes are getting bigger, I have yet to see an “upper” pitcher. I am hoping this summer or next!!! Where I live, the tapwater is so low in mineral content that i can use it - we used glass distilled water for the first 2-3 years as I have a supply at work, but I now use tapwater. Beautiful plant. Was a wonderful buy at a great price, excellent quality as always from Mr Soper, great aftercare when I rang up with a problem (which was just sunburn!), and this plant has given me much pleasure over the years. The pitchers are green and orange but will turn more red if you feed the leaves.
