What Carnivorous Plants Can I Grow in COM1?

Sarracenia – North American Pitcher Plants

COM1 is ideal as a Sarracenia compost for species, hybrids and cultivars. It provides the acidic, low-nutrient and moisture-retentive growing conditions required for strong growth and impressive pitcher production.

Dionaea muscipula – Venus Flytraps

If you’re looking for compost for a Venus flytrap, COM1 is an excellent choice. It is suitable for young and mature Dionaea muscipula and can be used for both potting and repotting Venus flytraps.

Drosera – Sundews

COM1 is suitable for many commonly grown Drosera (sundew) species that prefer an acidic, low-nutrient and moisture-retentive growing medium.

Heliamphora – Sun Pitcher Plants

COM1 can also be used for Heliamphora, providing the specialist low-nutrient and acidic growing conditions required by these spectacular South American carnivorous plants.

How to Use COM1

COM1 can be used straight from the bag for potting and repotting carnivorous plants.

After repotting, water thoroughly using rainwater, distilled water or reverse-osmosis water.

Never add ordinary plant food or conventional fertiliser, as carnivorous plants are naturally adapted to growing in nutrient-poor conditions.
