Good afternoon 27/1/23
This is our first blog of the year ,we hope to update everyone as often as possible with updates on the nursery , what we are up to here, how the plants are coming along , any new plant additions and events and shows we will be attending in 2023 ,
it has been so cold here on the nursery this last week or so , well below freezing day and night last week which is unusual for us , coldest we have had it for years to be honest , obviously the bog gardens were frozen solid but also all plants in the unheated sections of the glasshouses, many of the temperate sundews have lost most of their foliage so we have been cutting any dead leaves off to avoid grey mould and kept just damp mind you most have been frozen solid , things are thawing out this week ,some plants really look sad at this time of year but don’t worry things will soon start to pick up , even with this cold weather a couple of Sarracenia out in one of the bogs have flower buds as the days start to get a bit longer .
below you will see all open weekends and flower shows that we will be attending this year , the BBC Gardeners world fair at Audley end house and Gardens will be a first for us , which we are looking forward to, also the two Malvern shows Spring and Autumn.
this year will be our 25th year at the Malvern Autumn Show , time flies , this was the first big show we attended and I remember the first year there with my dad , the show was in the cow sheds then , very nervous but we were awarded a Gold medal !
