DESCRIPTION
The upper pitchers of both parent species are unusual and highly attractive. Nepenthes burbidgeae has beautiful elegant upper pitchers, while the upper pitchers on N. platychila are uniquely flared, or flanged. Both videos linked above and the photos show the lovely upper pitchers on this cross. The lower pitchers too are unusual.
History: First introduced in March 2018.
Origin: Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics. The female parent is N. burbidgeae selected for its typical cream-colored characteristics from the assorted clones sold under BE-3041 and the male parent is N. platychila selected for vigour from the assorted clones sold under BE-3266.
Source: A random selection from a large number of different clones.
Climate: This is a highland item. We grow it between about 26 deg. C (80 deg. F) in the daytime, down to 12 deg. C (54 deg. F) at night, although it will certainly tolerate temperatures well outside this range.
