Sarracenia Hybrids
Sarracenia hybrids are some of the best plants to start with as a beginner, easy to grow and usually produce a lot more pitchers than the species, for best results grow these plants in an unheated or frost free greenhouse, always keep the plants in a bright sunny position for good strong colourful growth, stand the potted plants in a tray of 2-3cm of rainwater from the end of February to around the end of October during this time the plants are in full growth. From November to February the plants loose most of their foliage and rest for the Winter months any brown or dead leaves can be cut off at this time of year .Sarracenia must remain cold and just damp rather than wet over the Winter rest period, if you have been growing Sarracenia indoors on a sunny windowsill it is best to put these plants out somewhere cold over the Winter , if you don't the plant will not rest properly. February March is a good time to repot Sarracenia into our COM1 just as the new growth starts
